WHAT IS 4+?

4+ is an internet-based exhibition consisting of four artists from Slovenia and an empty black canvas, which they have to fill with their own various graphics, each using his unique colour.
Online, viewers can observe progress daily.

The concept originates from the previous exhibition, called '4', which was done offline through file exchange and then printed and exhibited in Maximal, Ljubljana.

ARE THERE ANY RULES?

Each of the four artists uploads his works through a pre-made interface. Next to his unique colour, he can only use pure white and black. All graphics must be rough-pixeled and must support transparency. Graphics can also be deleted by their authors.

There are no limits concerning the period of uploading nor the size of the elements – it is based on improvisation, good taste and time availability.

WHAT IS THE GOAL?

4+ is a jam session and a game, so the end result is unpredictable. The main goal is to fill the blank black space with a dinamic composition of graphics and illustrations, all happening in real time for anyone to freely observe.

The finished piece will be printed and exhibited at the “Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs de l'Europe et de la Méditerrannée (BJCEM)” in May 2008.

WHO ARE THE ARTISTS?

Žiga Aljaž, Miha Artnak, Tibor Kranjc (all three from ZEK Crew) and David Krančan (Stripburger) originate from the field of Visual Communications and illustration, dealing with comics, graffiti, street art, design and interactive contents.

The workspace itself was put together by the invincible Lovro Žitnik.

CAN I CONTRIBUTE?

Sorry, this is a closed canvas; the upcoming versions may be however open either for people invited or in the future eventually for everyone. We will see how the story unfolds through time.
